The **Order Settings **section allows you to control how customers place orders, what options they see at checkout, and how charges, tips, and instructions are applied. These settings directly impact the checkout experience and order flow.

***

# How To Configure Admin General Settings?

- On the Admin panel, click on "Settings."

# Order Scheduling

Apart from instant orders, the Order Scheduling feature empowers customers to choose a specific date and time for their orders during checkout. This is based on the availability set by merchants or service providers using their merchant panel.

:::hint{type="info"}
**Note:** It is essential to enable this feature when using the platform for service merchants.

The Global Delivery Fee setting allows you to configure delivery charges centrally from the Admin Panel and apply the same delivery fee configuration to multiple merchants. Instead of setting up delivery fees individually for every merchant, you can define the fee once in the Admin Panel, and merchants can then use the default delivery fee.

This is especially useful when you want to maintain a consistent delivery pricing structure across your marketplace while reducing the time required to configure each merchant separately.

***

# Global Delivery Fee

To configure the global delivery fee:

- Log in to the Admin Panel. Navigate to Settings > Order. Locate the Delivery Configurations section.
- Configure the delivery fee using the available options.
- Click Save to apply your settings.

## Configure the Global Delivery Fee

Under Order Delivery Rates, you can choose how delivery charges should be calculated.

### None

No delivery fee is charged. You can enter an expected delivery time displayed on your storefront on ordering channels.

![](https://cdn.images.archbee.com/A6k4A417O1V2DGm4H5kN0/vag_-JT0Hl1IYwy4ecfui_image.png?format=webp)

### Fixed

Set a fixed amount for delivery charges, along with the expected delivery time displayed on your storefront on ordering channels.

![](https://cdn.images.archbee.com/A6k4A417O1V2DGm4H5kN0/jiQLaQMWcgL_xkPEz6-Vl_image.png?format=webp)

### Set Slabs

Establish delivery fees based on the distance from which the customer is placing their order by creating distance range slabs. For instance, you can define slabs such as 0-5 miles, 5-10 miles, and 10-20 miles, alongside mentioning the expected delivery time for each range.

When a customer orders from a distance of 3 miles, they fall within the 0-5 mile slab range. Consequently, they will be charged the delivery rate associated with this range, and the expected delivery time displayed on ordering channels will correspond to this range.

Similarly, if a customer orders from a distance of 13 miles, they fall within the 10-20 mile range slab. The same process applies as described above.

![](https://cdn.images.archbee.com/A6k4A417O1V2DGm4H5kN0/bLYCVM2Zy4EEnYnkDVC6K_image.png?format=webp)

### Per Unit

The **Per Unit** delivery type calculates delivery charges dynamically based on the exact distance from which the customer is placing their order.

For example, you can define distance ranges such as **0–1 mile**, **1–3 miles**, and **3–5 miles**, each with a specific rate per mile and an associated delivery time. Additionally, you can set a **base fee**, which ensures a minimum delivery charge is applied when the calculated fee is lower than the base amount.

When a customer places an order from **1.5 miles away**, the system calculates the delivery fee in parts:

- The first **1 mile** is charged using the **0–1 mile** rate.
- The remaining **0.5 mile** is charged by simply multiplying 0.5 by the rate set for **1- 3 miles**. These amounts are added together to form the final delivery fee. If this calculated total is lower than the base fee, the base fee is applied instead.

::Image[]{src="https://cdn.images.archbee.com/A6k4A417O1V2DGm4H5kN0/s5c0EAiM8YEq3TqgsbVdo_image.png?format=webp" size="90" width="800" height="543" isUploading="false" darkWidth="800" darkHeight="543" showCaption="false"}

### Delivery Tax

Apply a tax percentage on top of the delivery fee.

:::hint{type="info"}
**Note: **Request the Administrator to specify whether your store taxes should be [inclusive or exclusive](https://help.hyperzod.com/add-a-merchant#DH9Ef) on the customer's cart.

## Apply the Global Delivery Fee to Merchants

Once you have configured the global delivery fee in the Admin Panel, merchants can use it by selecting the **Default** option in their delivery fee settings.

To do this:

- Open the **Merchant Panel**.
- Navigate to **Settings > Delivery**.
- Select the **Default** option for the delivery fee configuration.
- Save the settings.

The merchant will then use the delivery fee configuration defined in the Admin Panel, rather than setting up a separate delivery fee configuration for that merchant.

## Enabling Tips

You can independently enable or disable:

- **Driver Tips** – Allows customers to leave a tip for the delivery driver.
- **Merchant Tips** – Allows customers to leave a tip for the merchant.

Both tip types can be used separately or together based on your business requirements.

# Order Control: Accept / Temporarily Halt Orders

The "Accept Orders" feature provides admins control over order acceptance. In high-order volume scenarios or other issues, admins can temporarily disable order acceptance. The "Custom Message" field allows the display of a prominent message to inform customers about the temporary unavailability of order placement, providing necessary instructions or updates.

Order Types

The Order Types feature allows you to customize the order types available on your platform, such as Delivery and Pickup, and create an additional order type using Custom or Custom 2.

You can rename the available order types, update their descriptions and icons, and configure them according to your business requirements.

For instance, businesses dealing with service stores can rename "delivery" to "Home Booking" and "pickup" to "Service at Location." You can also modify their icons for customer checkout.

Once the required order type is enabled, go to the **Merchants **section, edit the desired merchant, and assign the relevant order types based on that merchant's requirements. You can simply choose the merchant and accordingly choose the order types you want to assign to them, such as delivery, pickup, etc.

:::hint{type="info"}
**Note: **Only the Delivery and Custom 2 order types are sent to Autozod. Since Custom 2 follows the delivery order flow, you can use it when you need a separate delivery-based order type that should also be handled through Autozod.

## Edit and customise the Order types

You can customize existing order types by editing their **name, description, and image**. The description is displayed at checkout when a customer selects that order type. For example, if you offer delivery within 30 minutes, you can add **“Express Delivery – Under 30 Minutes” **as the description, which customers will see when selecting the delivery option. You can also update language-specific content and modify these details anytime using the edit option.

# Order Verification Code

A Verification code adds an additional layer of confirmation during order fulfilment to ensure secure and accurate handovers.

Once enabled for an order type such as Delivery or Pickup, the verification code will be required during order completion, depending on the order flow.

This helps ensure delivery confirmation accuracy and secure pickups and deliveries of the orders.

## How to Enable Verification Code

Within the Order Types section, open the required Order Type and enable the **Verification Code** toggle.

Once enabled, the verification code will automatically apply to orders placed using that order type.

![](https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/A6k4A417O1V2DGm4H5kN0/YzwkUG0MFBw3iEwzJ26gB_image.png)

## Verification Code Process for Delivery Orders

For Delivery orders, the verification code is sent in **two stages**.

### Pickup Verification at Merchant Store

Once the customer places the order, the merchant can review the verification code to be shared. When the driver arrives at the merchant location:

- The merchant provides the code to the driver, which is visible once they click on the order in the Merchant panel

![](https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/A6k4A417O1V2DGm4H5kN0/E3XDgHFogrAt3fqlIjIb9_image.png)

- The driver enters the code in the Driver App. The order is then marked as Picked Up.

::Image[]{src="https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/A6k4A417O1V2DGm4H5kN0/h58TBUybpPP02Uy9E7GbX_image.png" size="40" width="828" height="1648" position="center" darkWidth="828" darkHeight="1648" showCaption="false"}

### Delivery Verification at Customer Location

When the driver reaches the customer:

- The customer provides the one-time verification code to the driver, which is present on the order details page

![](https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/A6k4A417O1V2DGm4H5kN0/sxmcMAPMog50OsYlMs9XB_image.png)

- The driver enters the code in the Driver App. The order is marked as Completed.

::Image[]{src="https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/A6k4A417O1V2DGm4H5kN0/ZDa48HRgYjup42-Z3gmZz_image.png" size="40" width="828" height="1648" position="center" darkWidth="828" darkHeight="1648" showCaption="false"}

## Verification Code Process for Pickup Orders

For Pickup orders, the flow is different since the customer personally visits the merchant location to collect the order.

### Pickup Order Verification Process

- The customer arrives at the merchant's store
- The customer shares the code with the merchant. The merchant verifies the verification code, and then the order is marked as completed.

# Checkout Custom Fields (Global)

Customise your store's checkout process by adding extra fields. For example, for a business dealing with liquor stores, you can add fields like ID upload for age verification.

![](https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/A6k4A417O1V2DGm4H5kN0/BtcxEtqICi_3Ys_bcbJxk_image.png)

- Select the Order type in which these extra fields should appear

![](https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/A6k4A417O1V2DGm4H5kN0/Y4dLs5gG-YFL6DWMrGXUI_image.png)

- "Select Preferred Languages" to tailor this information to customer choices.

![](https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/A6k4A417O1V2DGm4H5kN0/3R5W_0wkO0ZI0ZLSsRR_F_image.png)

- Drag and drop the type of field

![](https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/A6k4A417O1V2DGm4H5kN0/vDbHbEn3usWMIA_I4JREQ_image.png)

- Enter basic info such as:

 Required: Whether it should be mandatory for customers to fill in during checkout

 Label: Heading of the field

 Placeholder: Any note added under the heading

![](https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/A6k4A417O1V2DGm4H5kN0/avbZkoyM8EkpVbKvTfczo_image.png)

Similarly, you can add the same for more fields and click save.

# Custom Charges

Utilise this feature to seamlessly create and apply various external fees to customers during checkout. Whether it's a service fee, packaging fee, global product tax, surge charge during rush hours, or a temporary rain fee during inclement weather, you have the flexibility to customise charges to meet specific needs.

![](https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/A6k4A417O1V2DGm4H5kN0/KoVYPHthPBGJClI63dTRl_image.png)

## How to Create a Custom Charge

A custom charge can be:

- Applied globally to all merchants, or
- Applied individually at the merchant level

## Charge Name

Enter the name for the charge to be displayed to customers during checkout.

::Image[]{src="https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/A6k4A417O1V2DGm4H5kN0/B2XjzDTlZRGUjxoqnwFMy_configure-order-settings-and-charges-for-a-merchant-step-46.png" size="90" width="860" height="481" position="center" darkWidth="860" darkHeight="481" showCaption="false"}

## Charge Description

Provide a brief description for internal reference, as it won't be visible to customers.

::Image[]{src="https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/A6k4A417O1V2DGm4H5kN0/Tiv8zLRuMZYPVCe1t32LN_configure-order-settings-and-charges-for-a-merchant-step-60.png" size="90" width="860" height="481" position="center" darkWidth="860" darkHeight="481" showCaption="false"}

## Applicable to Merchant or Admin

Decide whether the charge should be configured by the Admin or enabled/configured by Merchants in their [general settings](https://help.hyperzod.com/general).

For instance, a packaging fee is typically determined by individual stores and may vary from one store to another.

::Image[]{src="https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/A6k4A417O1V2DGm4H5kN0/mqIMxWKW-kYlQhJ4lD9e1_image.png" size="90" width="1060" height="695" position="center" darkWidth="1060" darkHeight="695" showCaption="false"}

## Set Rules

- **Charge Type:** Select whether the charge should be fixed or a percentage based on the order subtotal.
 **Enter Value:** Input the specific value for the charge.

![](https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/A6k4A417O1V2DGm4H5kN0/g9nYyOsxbmgeg-VXB-mlz_image.png)

## Conditional Logic

Enable **Conditional Logic **if the charge should apply only when certain conditions are met.

You can define the condition based on the **order subtotal **and choose how the value should be evaluated such as **greater than**, l**ess than**, **greater than or equal to**, or **less than or equal to **a specified amount.

For example, if the subtotal is **less than €30**, a **fixed custom charge of €3 **will be automatically applied to the order.

![](https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/A6k4A417O1V2DGm4H5kN0/TrPhU0Frknlkc1-JYA-PM_image.png)

- **Select Order Type:** Select the order type in which this extra charge should be added

![](https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/A6k4A417O1V2DGm4H5kN0/NqaRzXPN3-YGrF0tL7lyA_image.png)

- **Select Payment Mode: **Apply the charge only for specific payment methods (e.g., COD, online payment).

![](https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/A6k4A417O1V2DGm4H5kN0/q2fyo8y-pE5qu4ldo9-h__image.png)

## Restrict Custom Charges to Customer Segments

This feature lets you control which customers see and are charged specific fees at checkout by linking custom charges to customer segments.

Instead of applying every charge to every customer, you can now target fees precisely, for example, charging a handling fee only to wholesale buyers or waiving a surcharge for your VIP members.

:::hint{type="success"}
**Note:** Leave the segments field blank on any charge to keep it applying to all customers without any change to existing behaviour.
:::

:::hint{type="warning"}
**Note:** Customer segments are managed separately in your [Segments settings](https://help.hyperzod.com/segmentation#navigating-to-the-segmentation-page). If you do not see the segment you need in the dropdown, make sure it has been created and that customers have been assigned to it before setting up your charge restriction.
:::

![](https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/A6k4A417O1V2DGm4H5kN0/tqa_oMAkSSD0wVu342dlT_image.png)

Finally, **save** the charge and toggle the switch to enable, initiating its application.

Lastly, click "Save," and the order settings are successfully configured.
