Tap Payouts
Tap Payouts allows you to link Tap retailer accounts to Hyperzod and configure how order payments are split between the Admin and merchants. Once configured, Hyperzod processes the split according to your selected settings, helping automate merchant settlements.
Note: Merchants must be onboarded on Tap, and the Tap payment gateway must be enabled for checkout. Only orders paid through Tap can be split using Tap Payouts.
Configure Tap Payouts
Before linking merchant accounts, complete the one-time setup in the Admin Panel.
- Go to Admin Panel > Settings > Payouts.
- Locate Tap in the list of payout methods.
- Enable the Active toggle.
- Click Configure and select the required environment:
- Enter your Tap Secret Key for the selected environment and click Update to save the configuration.
Note: Activating Tap deactivates any other payout provider for the tenant. Ensure that the Tap payment gateway is also enabled for checkout.
Onboard a Retailer on Tap
Before linking a merchant in Hyperzod, the merchant must have a retailer account on Tap.
- Log in to your Tap dashboard.
- Once logged in, you can go to the Leads section and click on it, where you will find the option to create leads. Provide the details as asked by Tap to onboard as a lead.
- Once the lead has been updated, proceed with Convert to Retailer. Obtain the Retailer ID from Tap.
Note: Hyperzod does not create retailer accounts on Tap. The retailer must be created and onboarded through Tap, which provides the Retailer ID required to link the account.
Link a Tap Payout Account to Hyperzod Merchant
Once the merchant has a Tap retailer account, you can link it to the corresponding merchant in Hyperzod.
- In the Admin Panel, go to Admin Panel > Settings > Payouts > Tap.
- Click Access to open the Tap payout management section.
- Navigate to the Merchants tab and locate the merchant you want to configure.
- Enable the merchant's status toggle. The Link Account button will appear once the merchant is active.
- Click Link Account. In the Find by name field, search for the retailer using the name registered on Tap. Alternatively, enter the Retailer ID directly.
- Click Link Account to complete the linking process.
Hyperzod validates the Retailer ID with Tap before saving the account link. Once successfully linked, the merchant is marked as connected, and Tap is selected as the merchant's payout provider.
Configure Split Payments for Hyperzod Merchant
After linking the merchant's Tap account, configure how order amounts should be distributed between the Admin and the merchant.
- In the Tap payout management section, locate the merchant.
- Click the Settings icon next to the merchant.
- Configure the following settings: For each order component, select whether the amount should go to the Admin or the Merchant. Configure the settlement destination for applicable custom charges, including global and merchant-level custom charges.
- Enable instant split payments: Enable this option if you want the split to occur instantly once the order is placed.
- Order status: If instant split payments are not enabled, select the order status at which the split should be processed, such as Completed.
- Review the settings and click Submit to save them.
Example: If the merchant should receive the order subtotal and tax while the Admin retains the delivery fee and commission, select Merchant for Subtotal and Tax, and Admin for Delivery Fee and Commission. Configure the remaining components according to your settlement requirements.
How Tap Payouts Work
Once Tap is configured, the merchant's account is linked with Hyperzod, and the split settings are saved, the payout process follows the configured rules:
- The customer places an order and pays using Tap.
- Hyperzod applies the configured split payment settings.
- If instant split payments are enabled, the merchant's share is included in the payment split at checkout.
- Otherwise, the split is processed when the order reaches the configured status.
- The payout details become available in the Reports tab for review.
The actual distribution of funds is subject to the configured settlement rules and Tap's processing.
Review Tap Payout Reports
You can review payout records from the Reports tab in the Tap payout management section within the Hyperzod platform.
Use the available report filters and search options to locate specific payout records and review transaction details. You can use the relevant order or date information to assist with reconciliation.
